Do not fear violence, my friend.

Review - Wuthering Heights (Emily Brontë)

Excellent, a lovely story of love and hate in the deep north of england with great characters, languaje and rythm. The passions at their peak. Highly recommeded for anyone looking for a good-old-way novel. Rating 7

Metro 2033 (PC) -Análisis-

Estoy hastiado de los shooters y mira que fue durante años casi el único género al que jugaba en mi pc, junto a las siempre presentes estrategias por turnos. Me parecen genéricos, repetitivos, simples y aburridos, un ensayo y error que no aportan nada a no ser que te metas en el online y mates a otra gente y quizá sea precisamente por eso por lo que todos están derivando en online only. Sin embargo el caso es que he jugado a un shooter y mira, lo he disfrutado. Hoy os traigo su análisis: Metro 2033.


No os voy a engañar, no lo cogí por ser una oferta diferente o porque leyera por ahí que era algo distinto, sino simplemente porque la novela en la que se basa me dejó alucinado. En serio, es algo que debéis leer, y me gustó tanto que quise probar el juego, aunque solo fuera por compartir puntos de vista sobre cómo era ese universo para otra gente. Metro 2033 te sitúa en un universo diferente, una especie de mad max subterráneo lleno de peligros y oscuridad. El juego comienza tal cual la novela y sigue el libro a grandes rasgos, es decir, eres el mismo protagonista con la misma misión, aunque el camino y las situaciones son diferentes. Esto es así porque el libro no es un relato de acción sino que incluye más partes de diálogo, de religión o de filosofía, intentando describir lo que pasa en el metro; mientras que el juego ha de ponerte en situaciones más dinámicas para que no acabes aburriéndote. No pasa nada, no os preocupéis, no se nota si solo jugáis al juego. Eso sí, os recomiendo que leáis primero el libro o que, al menos, no penséis que ya os lo sabéis solo por haberlo jugado.

A nivel general el juego cumple bastante. En términos técnicos no puedo decir demasiado porque bueno, depende bastante de lo que le pongas en un pc y el mío es normalito. Prefiero hablar de la mecánica de juego. Se intenta mezclar el survival con la escasez de munición, la exploración y la acción. Además casi siempre se puede elegir el sigilo en vez del enfrentamiento. Las premisas son correctas pero falla un poco en su ejecución, me explico. El juego tiene dos problemas principales. Primero los checkpoints y después la escasez. Vamos por puntos.

Los checkpoints están puestos a la perfección, es decir, justo antes de un salto o un enfrentamiento o algo en donde puedas morir, verás que aparece el símbolo de grabando. ¿Resultado? El survival desaparece como tal. Si resucitas 10 segundos antes te da igual morir o no, es un sinsentido pasar miedo o preocuparse, simplemente avanza y cuando pase algo pues evitalo. El ejemplo perfecto de esto aparece en la biblioteca: una fase en donde no puedes enfrentarte a nadie, que debes correr por tu vida, se convierte en un ensayo y error absurdo e incluso aburrido. Me parece increíble que nadie lo haya pensado antes. Por otro lado la escasez es una falacia: hay balas en cada rincón y a no ser que seas un verdadero paquete y que no explores absolutamente nada, siempre tendrás suficiente. Es posible que quizá no puedas comprar esa súper arma que querías, pero escasez no vas a pasar. Es una lástima que no se hayan terminado de pulir estos dos elementos, porque el resto de experiencia es por sí bastante interesante.

No quiero hablar mucho más del juego, de verdad, porque creo que no se debe espoilear nada. Yo jugué conociendo el libro y es cierto que tiene un punto de novedad y exotismo que puede atrapar a jugadores novatos, pero que quizá no es tan impresionante para nosotros. No dudo que si no lo has leído, te va a encantar, porque es un shooter que tiene cosas maravillosas y no me extraña que se haya creado una pequeña fama de culto dentro de la comunidad. Tiene mucha acción, tiene exploración, tiene sigilo, varios finales, puedes elegir cómo jugar, puedes incluso pararte a escuchar conversaciones en grupos que te van contando la historia del mundo y sentirte más dentro de todo aquello. Es mucho más completo de lo que podría parecer y sobre todo tiene una ambientación prácticamente única. Yo lo habría hecho más survival y menos acción, más escasez y menos recompensas en esquinas, pero aun así, está muy chulo.

Resumiendo creo que es un buen juego, que no termina de pulir sus mecánicas y que de no ser por la ambientación no pasaría de ser normalillo. Sin embargo todo unido le hace resaltar y parecer algo diferente que incluso merece la pena para gente como yo que estamos cansadísimos de los shooters. Yo os recomiendo a todos que os leáis el libro y luego disfrutéis del juego con tranquilidad, no os vais a arrepentir, en serio, son una experiencia complementaria y fabulosa.
